"Revolutions happen in the space between an old system breaking down, and a new one becoming established."

JOIN THE REVOLUTION IN EDUCATION. JOIN THE OPEN WORLD.

Story-board, film, create, screen your movie, receive kind/ helpful/ specific critique, revise, re-screen, recreate and finally celebrate your beautiful work and powerful voices. This is a process - your process - but share your ideas and drafts along the way. Take the kind, helpful and specific feedback of an audience you trust to make your final piece the most beautiful work possible!

Your final video should be between 1 and 4 minutes.

CREATE, ITERATE & CELEBRATE

Find videos online that you like and that you plan to use as "tribute work" for your original video. Focus on making your style match the content and message you are communicating.

Possible Inspiration (or find your own!):

Tilt Shift and Stop Motion Inspiration

Hip Hop Genius

HTH's Commencement Challenge

Spoken Word Inspiration: Suli Breaks or (not for content) How to Be Alone or Pass On

LEARN FROM MODELS

You and your group will decide what you would like your movie to focus on, drawing inspiration from David Price's Open - Chapter 1 (the world we face), Chapter 6 (the social learning you are a part of outside of school) and Chapter 8 (the kind of education you need to be successful in the future). Brainstorm BIG ideas you would like to share with a public audience. You may use the Notes and Guiding Questions for Chapter 1, 6 and 8 to help you review what you read.

We will be reading and discussing the implications of Open and how it relates to your educational experience and the type of learning environment you need in order to prepare for success in the future "open world". During this project, you will get the opportunity to meet the author (David Price), share your opinions about education, influence the structure and focus of our class and team, and create videos that give voice to what you believe the future of education should be.
